  The Prima’s blade wears 1.2210 carbon steel or silver steel with 61 HRC hardness and a face sporting 24-karat-gold-plated details. It has been heated to over 1,000 °C and tempered to about 200 °C to achieve maximum elasticity and toughness.

Shaving Guide

Before using any straight razor, the blade should be run through a leather strop 15-20 times on each side. Prepare your lather on a shaving scuttle and prep your skin with a warm towel. Apply a shaving oil before putting a generous amount of lather on your face using a shaving brush. Hold your razor with the handle pointing away from you and use your free hand to gently stretch the skin opposite to the area you are shaving. Shave while following a natural and comfortable direction.

Maintenance

To guarantee that a carbon steel straight razor blade stays at its prime quality, ensure that the straight razor is completely dry after use. Dab the blade dry with a cloth while avoiding the edge and hang it in a razor stand to drain excess moisture properly. Let the razor rest for 48 hours before shaving again to have the burr realign itself. If the razor is not going to be used for an extensive period, apply an acid-free oil before storing it.
